Home-made no Yeast Bread



Ingredients


  • 515g All Purpose Flour

  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Salt

  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

  • 60g Unsalted Butter, Melted

  • 40g Honey or 25g Sugar

  • 420ml Buttermilk + 1 Tablespoon for brushing dough

Optional : 1 Tablespoon oats or Salt for Topping !


Method :


  1. Preheat oven to 400 F / 204 C/ Gas Mark 6 .

  2. Whisk Flour, Salt and Baking Soda together in a large bowl. Set aside.

  3. Whisk the melted Butter ,honey or sugar together and pour into flour mixture to combine.

  4. In 2 to 3 additions pour in buttermilk mixing for 15-20sec after each additions. After all Buttermilk has been added mix gently to form dough.

  5. Pour dough and any flour crumbs that have not been incorporated onto a lightly floured surface.

  6. Work the dough into a ball and flatten into 7-8 inch .

  7. If dough is too sticky add a a little more flour.

  8. Transfer into prepared dish and brush with 1 tablespoon of Buttermilk.

  9. Using a sharp knife score a 3 to 4 inch deep X mark into top.

  10. Sprinkle some oats or salt on loaf (optional)

  11. Bake for about 45min or until bread is golden brown
