Gingerbread Cookies - My personal fav !!

Ingredients :
850g Flour
2 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
1 Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
1 Teaspoon Salt
250g Butter
1 Egg
125ml Golden Syrup
125ml Black Treacle
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
250g Brown Sugar
Method :
Preheat oven at 325 F / 160 C.
Cream together the Butter and Sugar in a mixer.
In a separate bowl , sieve the flour, baking soda and all spices together. Set aside.
In a medium bowl mix together the Golden Syrup, Black Treacle and egg, mix well and set aside.
Combine the Dry ingredients with the butter mixture .
Add the Salt and Golden Syrup mixture and give it a few turns until it becomes a dough .
Leave to rest for 15minutes.
Using a rolling pin open the dough and cut out forms using your desired shapes.
Bake for 15minutes at 160C .
When cooked place them on a tray.
You can also decorate with some Royal Icing !
